In the Coachella Valley we live under rock formations and homes encroach on the desert. Mountains rise up from backyards & highways. This overwhelming closeness to the landscape generates a real emotional response for me and inspires this series. Organically influenced by the 1975 exhibition New Topographics, the series holds both the optimism of nature’s beauty, the real threat to the landscape and warns us that climate change is here.
